ADHD Care in Scottsdale
Trouble focusing, sitting still, or managing impulses can affect nearly every part of a child’s day, and those struggles rarely disappear with age. For adults, they can show up as missed deadlines, a cluttered inbox, or difficulty sitting through a meeting. Understanding what’s actually driving this is the first step toward real support.

Looking Past the Label to What’s Driving It
At Elevate Chiropractic, we don’t treat or diagnose ADHD. What we look at is how well the nervous system is regulating attention, impulse control, and activity level, since interference here can make it harder for the brain and body to work together as designed.
A few common exposures tend to make regulation harder for kids and adults already struggling to focus:
- Food dyes, preservatives, and additives in the diet
- Non-organic produce treated with pesticides or herbicides
- Undiagnosed food sensitivities, such as dairy or gluten
- Added sugars and artificial sweeteners
- Household cleaning agents, detergents, and fragranced products
How Inattention and Restlessness Show Up, at Any Age
In kids, the signs are usually easy to spot. Inattention, distractibility, and trouble following instructions often stand out first, along with difficulty sitting still or concentrating. Impulsive thoughts, words, or actions tend to follow, along with near-constant movement in the hands, feet, or legs.
In teens and adults, the same restlessness often looks different: trouble finishing tasks, a short attention span in conversations, impulsive decisions, or a background restlessness that’s hard to settle even when it’s time to.
A Nervous System-Focused Approach to Care
Rather than focusing on individual behaviors, we look for disturbances within the nervous system itself. A thorough examination and an InSight scan often reveals nervous system interference concentrated in the upper neck, contributing to the tension behind focus and impulse control challenges. From there, we recommend adjustments tailored to each person’s age and needs to reduce that interference over time.
A Note on Medication
Many families look for a natural approach alongside, or instead of, medications like methylphenidate, wanting to understand the root cause rather than manage symptoms alone. If your family currently uses medication, we encourage you to keep working with your prescribing physician. Chiropractic care is meant to complement your care team, not replace medical guidance.

What Practice Members Are Saying
Carlos has ADHD and ADS, along with significant anxiety, and was unable to calm himself down. He was struggling in school and was not sleeping well or eating enough. He has improved tremendously. He sleeps better than ever and is gaining more weight. More importantly, he is less anxious and stressed, and he is able to calm down at school within a couple of minutes. His behaviour at school has improved dramatically, and his teachers are very impressed with the change. Dr. T and the staff are amazingly good with Carlos. Carlos M.’s parents
